The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially released the detailed recruitment notification for the Junior Engineer (Civil, Mechanical & Electrical) Examination, 2026, along with posts for Scientific Assistant in IMD. Eligible Diploma and Degree holders in Engineering and Science disciplines can apply online
A total of 1748 tentative vacancies have been announced across premier central government departments including CPWD, BRO, MES, CWC, and the Department of Telecommunications.

Post-Wise Educational Qualification & Age Limit
Crucial Date for Age Reckoning: 01 August 2026.
Age Relaxation: SC/ST: 5 years, OBC: 3 years, PwBD: 10–15 years, ESM: 3 years post-service deduction.

SSC JE 2026 Selection Process & Exam Scheme
The selection involves two stages of Computer Based Examinations (CBE) followed by Document Verification. Paper-I is qualifying in nature. Merit is prepared strictly on normalized marks obtained in Paper-II.
1. Paper-I Examination Pattern (Duration: 2 Hours)
