Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially released the recruitment notification for the Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination, 2026 (SSC CHSL 2026). This nationwide competitive examination invites online applications from eligible 12th-pass candidates for approx. 2,536 Group ‘C’ vacancies, including Lower Division Clerk (LDC), Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA), and Data Entry Operator (DEO / DEO Grade 'A') across various Ministries, Departments, and Constitutional Bodies of the Government of India.

Selected candidates receive central pay scale benefits under the 7th CPC Matrix:

Lower Division Clerk (LDC) / Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA): Pay Level-2 (Rs. 19,900 – Rs. 63,200)

Data Entry Operator (DEO): Pay Level-4 (Rs. 25,500 – Rs. 81,100) & Pay Level-5 (Rs. 29,200 – Rs. 92,300)

Eligibility Criteria
1. Educational Qualification (As on 07-10-2026)

For DEO / DEO Grade ‘A’ (in Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, SSC, and Ministry of Culture): 12th Standard pass in the Science stream with Mathematics as a subject from a recognized Board or equivalent.

For LDC/JSA and DEO/DEO Grade ‘A’ (All other Ministries/Departments): Must have passed 12th Standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.

Note: Candidates who have appeared for their 12th standard exams may apply provided they possess proof of passing on or before 07-10-2026.

Application Fee & Correction Charges

Application Fee: Rs. 100/-

Exempted Categories: Women candidates, SC, ST, PwBD, and eligible ESM candidates are exempted from payment of the application fee.

Payment Mode: BHIM UPI, Net Banking, Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, or RuPay Debit Cards.

Correction Charges: First correction: Rs. 200/-; Second correction: Rs. 500/- (Applicable to all categories).
Selection Process & Exam Pattern
The recruitment consists of a two-tier Computer Based Examination (CBE) followed by Document Verification:
1. Tier-I Examination (Objective Type / Multiple Choice)

Subjects (25 Questions / 50 Marks each): English Language, General Intelligence, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness.

Total: 100 Questions | 200 Marks.

Duration: 60 Minutes (with 15 minutes sectional timer per subject).

Negative Marking: 0.50 marks per incorrect answer.
