Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has published an official notification (CEN No. 03/2026) for the recruitment of Section Controller in various Zonal Railways across India.

• Closing Date for Online Application: August 14, 2026 (23:59 Hrs)

• Last Date for Fee Payment: August 16, 2026

• Application Modification Window: August 17, 2026 to August 26, 2026

• Scribe Details Submission Window: August 27, 2026 to August 31, 2026

Vacancy Details & Category-Wise Breakdown

A total of 119 vacancies have been announced across various Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs):

• Unreserved (UR): 50

• SC: 12

• ST: 19

• OBC (NCL): 29

• EWS: 09

• Ex-Servicemen (ExSM): 05 (Horizontal Reservation)

Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational Qualification

• Candidates must possess a Graduate Degree / Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent.

• Note: Candidates awaiting final results are not eligible to apply.

2. Age Limit (as on 01.07.2026)

• Age Group: 20 to 33 Years (Born between 02.07.1993 and 01.07.2006 for UR/EWS).

Age Relaxation:

• OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 Years

• SC / ST: 5 Years

• Ex-Servicemen / PwBD / Railway Staff / Widowed or Divorced Women: As per Government Norms.

3. Medical Standards

• Medical Fitness Level: A-2

• General Fitness: Physically fit in all respects.

• Visual Standards:

  • Distant Vision: 6/9, 6/9 without glasses.

  • Near Vision: Sn 0.6, 0.6 without glasses.

  • Must pass tests for Colour Vision, Binocular Vision, Night Vision, and Myopic vision.

• Important Warning: Candidates who have undergone LASIK surgery or any corrective eye surgery are NOT ELIGIBLE for this post.

Selection Process

The recruitment process consists of four stages:

1. Single-Stage Computer Based Test (CBT)

2. Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) (Shortlisted at 1:8 ratio based on CBT performance)

3. Document Verification (DV) (Shortlisted at 1:1 ratio based on combined CBT & CBAT merit)

4. Medical Examination (ME)

Merit Formula: Combined Merit for DV/Selection = 70% Weightage to CBT + 30% Weightage to CBAT.

Exam Pattern & Syllabus (CBT)

• Mode: Computer Based Test (Objective Type)

• Duration: 120 Minutes (2 Hours)

• Total Questions: 100 Questions (100 Marks)

• Negative Marking: $1/3^{\text{rd}}$ mark deduction for every incorrect answer.

Application Fee & Refund Process

• For All Candidates (General/OBC/EWS): ₹500/-

  • (₹400 will be refunded after deducting bank charges upon appearing in CBT).

• For SC / ST / ExSM / PwBD / Female / Transgender / Minorities / EBC: ₹250/-

  • (Full ₹250 will be refunded after deducting bank charges upon appearing in CBT).

• Mode of Payment: Online via Net Banking, Debit/Credit Cards, or UPI.
