Indian Coast Guard Recruitment 2026
Indian Coast Guard (Ministry of Defence) has published an official notification for the recruitment of Enrolled Persons through the Coast Guard Enrolled Persons Test (CGEPT) – Batches 01/2027 & 02/2027. Applications are being invited online via the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) portal. Eligible male and female candidates can apply online starting from 06 October 2026 to 21 October 2026.

Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification

Navik (General Duty): 10+2 passed with Mathematics and Physics from an education board recognized by COBSE.

Navik (Domestic Branch): 10th Class passed from a recognized COBSE board.

Hygienist-I: Matriculation OR ITI certificate / equivalent from a recognized Central/State board.

Yantrik: Class 10th passed with a 3 or 4-year Diploma in Electrical / Mechanical / Electronics / Telecommunication Engineering (AICTE approved); OR Class 10th & 12th passed with a 2 or 3-year AICTE-approved Diploma.

Pay Scale & Benefits

Yantrik: Basic Pay of Rs. 29,200/- (Pay Level-5) + Yantrik Pay @ Rs. 6,200/- + DA and other allowances

Navik (GD / DB) & Hygienist-I: Basic Pay of Rs. 21,700/- (Pay Level-3) + DA and other allowances

Additional Perks: Free ration, clothing, medical treatment for self & family, government accommodation/HRA, 45 days Earned Leave, CSD canteen facility, and Rs. 75 Lakh NGIF insurance cover
Selection Process
The recruitment comprises four sequential stages[cite: 5]:

Stage-I (CBE): Computer-Based Examination of 100 objective questions (1 hour duration, bilingual, no negative marking)

Stage-II (Testing Centers): Physical Fitness Test (PFT: 1.6 km run, squats, push-ups, sit-ups), Assessment & Adaptability Test, Document Verification, and Initial Medical Examination

Stage-III (INS Chilka): Biometric verification, comprehensive Document Verification, Pre-enrolment Medicals, and original document submission

Stage-IV: Final genuineness verification of original educational certificates with respective boards/universities
